Having your Center accredited and your Educators certified not only may give you more state funding, (depending on your state<\/a>), it also demonstrates to parents that you strive for education excellence.<\/p>\n

FOR CENTERS<\/strong>
\nThe NECPA Self Study Process
\nThe enrollment period lasts for two years. Most programs going through accreditation for the first time need approximately one year to complete all steps, but the self-study process allows you to work at your own pace. Once the Self Assessment Instrument is complete and all necessary documents have been gathered, the program is ready to request a verification visit. We require that programs have been operating for at least one year before requesting a visit. On the day of your visit, a NECPA Verifier will visit your center to observe teacher interactions, verify documents, and survey the facility. If programs include classrooms and activities for school-age children up to age 12, NECPA Verifiers will also survey their classrooms and activities at this time.<\/p>\n

The Certified Child Care Professional (CCP)<\/strong>
\nQuality standards extend beyond licensing requirements, good facilities and best intentions. The child care staff with whom parents entrust their children must be professional, competent, knowledgeable and dedicated to ensuring high quality early childhood experiences in safe and nurturing environments. These experiences must effectively promote children\u2019s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development. They must also be consistent with family needs, the child\u2019s developmental level, learning interests, style of learning and cultural background. Professionals exhibiting standards of excellence in child care and early childhood education are recognized by The NECPA Commission, Inc. through the awarding of a national credential, the Certified Child Care Professional.<\/p>\n
